South Queensland Islands

The sand islands off southern Queensland offer the visitor the chance to experience some of Australia's finest scenery. Long open surf beaches give way to an inland region with a mixture of rain forests, perched and mirror lakes and typical Australian scrublands complete with grass trees and scribbly gums. Fraser Island is the most northerly of these and the worlds largest sand island. Great resorts can be found among these islands and they all have dozens of fantastic beauty spots to see. Moreton Island lies of Brisbane while Stradbroke Island can be accessed from Queensland's beautiful Gold Coast.
