Daydream Island

Daydream Island is home to one of the most popular island resorts in the entire Queensland islands region. There has been a resort on Daydream Island for generations which had become quite run down, but in recent times the island was purchased by Vaughn Bullivant who spent many millions of dollars, purchasing and completely redeveloping the resort. The original resort has been converted into staff quarters and a completely new resort which includes the largest and most comprehensive health spa anywhere in the Whitsundays. Daydream island is only a small island which adds to its holiday atmosphere. It is also the closest resort to Shute Harbour and Airlie Beach so it is really easy to get to and regular ferry services are available from the mainland and from Hamilton Island, to access the island.

Daydream Island is a complete resort with many activities and attractions. It is a popular family holiday destination and one of the most popular wedding destinations in the region. Facilities include a beautiful oceanfront chapel, superb restaurants and reception facilities and excellent accommodation for the bridal party and guests. The resort accommodation is built in two, two story wings that run parallel to the waterfront on either side of the island. The swimming pool,and day facilities are positioned in between these two wings. Rooms can have either pool views or ocean views depending on which side of the wing you choose. The service facilities like spa treatment rooms and restaurants are located in the building that joins the two wings together on the southern side. Daydream Island has a dive shop and lots of aquatic facilities like jet ski hire, paddle skis and sailing catamarans and tours to other parts of the Whitsundays like the Great Barrier Reef and Whitehaven Beach depart from the island on a daily basis.
