Central Islands in Queensland

Some of Queenslands most interesting holiday destinations can be found among the central Queensland islands. Heron Island and Wilson Island are both coral atolls set among the coral of the Great barrier reef itself. Heron island operates both islands. Close to the coast and a little further south is Great Keppel Island which has a rich history as a holiday destination. Lady Elliot Island is also a coral atoll perched on top of the reef itself and offers an island experience with fantastic diving and wildlife encounters while staying in a lower price bracket. Fraser Island is totally different and offers the tourist a view of a fantastic destination complete with lush rain forests, mirror lakes and sand blows.
